How to Become an Artist With Zero Capital (0 Naira) - My Full Guide

Do you want to become an artist but you have no money? No studio, no sponsor, no equipment? I understand you, because I started the same way.

My name is YoungMaq and I started music with 0 naira. Today, I will show you exactly how I did it and how you can do it too.

1. Use Your Phone - Your First Studio

You don't need a big studio to start. Your phone is enough.

Download BandLab app - it is free and you can record your voice and add beats.

Use your earphone mic to record. Find a quiet room, cover yourself with a blanket to reduce noise, and record.

I recorded my first 5 songs like this.

2. Get Free Beats on YouTube

Go to YouTube and search "Free Afrobeat beat" or "Free Amapiano beat".

Many producers give free beats for upcoming artistes. Download them, write your lyrics on it, and record.

Just remember to give credit to the producer.

3. Promote on TikTok, Facebook and WhatsApp - For Free

You don't need money for promotion in 2026.

Post a 15 seconds video of you singing on TikTok everyday.

Use hashtags like #UpcomingArtiste #AbaMusic #Afrobeat

Put your music on your WhatsApp Status and tell your friends to repost.

Create a Facebook Page for your music.

This is how people will know you.

4. Collaborate With Other Upcoming Artistes

Find another upcoming artiste in your area. Do a song together. When you do a collab, his fans will hear you and your fans will hear him. You both grow for free.

5. Learn From YouTube - Free Music School

YouTube is a free university for music.

Search:

How to write a hit song

How to mix vocals on BandLab

How to sing better

You can learn everything there without paying 1 naira.

6. Build a Fanbase Before Money Comes

Don't chase money first. Chase fans.

If 1000 people love your music, money will come later through shows, streaming, and support. Focus on building real fans who comment and share your music.

My Advice For You:

Start today. Don't wait till you have millions. I started with 0 capital from Aba, and if I can do it, you can do it too.
